This is my first Blog Post and strangely its about going back in Time

On Friday I will be going to The Mineworkers Championship at Butlins in Skegness

This was one of the first Championships that I ever attended as a Percussionist in a Brass Band. I was a young lad and it all seemed so scary then but it was enough to convince me that playing music was what I wanted to do with my life.

I have played bigger venues since those early days but there is something about Butlins that isn’t found anywhere else.

This year I wont be playing but I will be catching up with the Brass Band Scene and all my friends that I have met since that first set piece with Uppermill Band.
